No, but glad you asked. Believe it or not there was a survey conducted amongst 2,000 women ages 16 to 24.
This survey was part of the Special K ‘strength is‘ campaign’s research.
I know you’re sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what these 20 things are, but you’ll need to cool your jets for 1 second.
- Even though this survey focused on 16 to 24 year old women I can guarantee you women much older than that hate being called these things as well. How do you know? Years of personal experience. Trust me on this one.
- Also, this top 20 list is done based on percentage. Meaning the higher the percentage the more women despise being called that word. We’re going to go start from most despised and work our way down.

20 Things You Call Women That Drive Them Absolutely Bonkers
Makes sense right? I know if I were to call my wife hormonal I would be sleeping on the couch. No questions asked. It’s a little surprising that this is number #1 considering all of the other words on this list.
Yeah, I can see why that would not go over well. I mean Beauty Queen is a different story. I am not surprised that this is on this list.
Okay, really not much to say about this one. I mean can’t you understand why women dislike the word bitchy? If, not it might be a long, lonely life for you.
Now, this one being in the top 5 is interesting. I can understand why they hate it, because women don’t typically view themselves as high maintenance, even though some are. In my case at least my wife admits that she is high maintenance.
Yeah, this one seems a little inflammatory. Borders on calling them crazy. Which is one of the worst things you can do. Word to the wise, don’t do that. Even if it is true.
Even though women break men’s balls constantly about everything, they dislike being called that. Understandable. This is why men are from Mars and women are from Venus. Men take being called a ball breaker a compliment.
Oh, this name is by far one of the worst you can call women. They literally lose their minds when you refer to them as a Diva. Stay far away from this word.
Being called high strung or highly strung does not seem all that offensive. What do you think? So, you have a little extra pep in your step. That’s better than the opposite.
Heck the word Mumsy is offensive to me and I am a man. Can’t imagine why women do not like to be called Mumsy. I think it’s up there with being called Granny.
Ah, princess. Yeah, not going to make many friends calling a women a princess. I’d refrain from using this one.
This one is a head scratcher for me. Unsure as to why they hate being referred to as attention seeking. Explain this one to me please?
Even if it is true, I would strongly advise against calling any women manipulative. Remember this: happy wife/girlfriend leads to a happy life for you!
Another one that may be true, but women really don’t like being called bossy. Don’t do it!
This is frowned upon in most circles including your own. Calling a women controlling is bad news. Put yourself in a women’s shoes. What if she called you controlling? That’s a bad thing if you’re a guy. Just saying.
Being referred to as difficult is not an endearing term by any means.
This one is a little puzzling. I would think being called sexy is a compliment. But, what do I know.
This makes a lot of sense. For a women to be called aggressive is not a good thing. Why? Because a majority of guys are intimidated by aggressive women. This puts a wrench in a women’s romantic department.
Being called sassy does not seem like a bad thing.
Being called feisty is a good thing, but I can see why it makes this list. Not every women would agree with me here.
