People buy from people they know, like, and trust. Period. End of story. This is even more important online. Let me explain. Chances are you’ll never speak with them face-to-face, or hang out with them in a social setting to get to know them and build rapport. How do you go about getting people to know, like, and trust you on your blog?
- Have Pictures. Place pictures of you, your wife, your kids, etc. in your About page. This is a great way for your prospects to get to know you. Update those pictures frequently as you want to keep them fresh much like the rest of the content on your blog. Also, incorporate an image of you in your header.
- Be Personable. Be personable, approachable so someone will not hesitate to interact with you by leaving a comment on your post. Write like your having a conversation with your buddy who is sitting across from you. Don’t write in the third person, or make me contemplate which is more interesting – reading your blog or watching paint dry.
- Be Honest. The quickest way to build trust with any prospect is to be honest with them. If you are doing a review of a tool you’ve used in your business and it didn’t work or it sucks say so. Whatever you’re trying to promote don’t be afraid to say this may not be for you. Because all things are not for everyone. Just as I say selling online is hard, takes a lot of work, and is not for everyone. I’ll never hide that from you.
