So you’ve decided to take the plunge and begin your affiliate marketing career. Congratulations! And as I am sure you are well aware by now is the money is in the list. Now you’ve bought Aweber and will utilize them to build your list. The problem is you have no clue how to communicate using Aweber. Or simply put – create what you call a follow-up series. This is precisely why I created this Aweber tutorial for you. To grab you by the hand and personally walk you through how to create a follow up series using Aweber. Trust me it’s a piece of cake. You’ll see.

Go to aweber.com
Type in your username and password and click on Login To My Account
Now we are going to walk through the Messages tab you see in the screen shot above. When you place your cursor over the Messages tab you have a few options. Here are those options in the screen shot below.
The options are Follow Up Series, Broadcasts, Blog Broadcasts, and Email Template Manager. The options you are going to use most frequently are Follow Up Series and Broadcasts. A Follow Up Series is simply a set of emails that you have written ahead of time that are sent automatically to your prospect after they have opted in to your list. How would the prospect opt-in to your list? Below is an example of a lead capture page where a prospect would enter in their email address and opt-in to your list.
The great thing about Aweber is you can determine when each email in the follow-up series is delivered and how many emails you want to send as part of your follow up series. A Follow-Up series can consist of 3, 5, 10, or even 20 emails, it’s all up to you.
Before you can begin putting together the follow up series you need to create a list that the follow up emails are going to be sent to. We’ll walk through how to create a new list.
From the home screen click on Manage Lists.
After clicking on Manage Lists you are brought to the following screen.
Click on Create A List. See screen below.
After you click on Create A List you are brought to the following screen.
You’ll need to scroll down to complete the remainder of the steps. I will walk you through those steps in the screen shot below.
After filling in that information scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click Next Step.
When you have clicked on Next Step the following screen appears.
Choose which option you like best.
After you have chosen your confirmation message subject line now you can customize the body of the confirmation message. See the screen shot below.
We can begin creating your Follow Up Series.
Let’s walk through setting up a Follow Up Series. Now I am going to move my cursor over Follow Up Series and it will highlight in Blue.
Click on Follow Up Series. And you will be taken to the screen below.
After you click on Drag & Drop Email Builder you will be taken to the following screen.
I will need to scroll down to finish my explanation and you will see that in the screen shot below.
After you click Next you will be brought to the following screen.
After clicking on Save & Exit you are sent to the following screen.
I will now explain what you are looking at.
#1 contains the title of the email. Below the title of the email you have a few options. Edit, Send a test, Delete, Copy. All of those are self-explanatory except for Send a test. Send a test means you can send that email to yourself and see what your prospect sees when they receive and open your email. I recommend you send a test of all your emails before sending to your prospects.
#2 Is the frequency at which the email is going to be sent. As per the screen shot above that email is being sent immediately.
#3 A spam score is given to all of your emails automatically by Aweber. Aweber takes into account the content of your email and the title to help determine whether your email would be considered as spam. The higher the spam score the greater chance it ends up in your prospect’s spam folder rather than their inbox.
#4 Shows the percentage of that email being opened by your prospect after you send it. The higher the percentage the better. Why? It means that a lot of your prospects have opened that email.
You can create as many emails as you wish in your Follow Up. All you have to do is move your cursor over Create A Follow Up and click on Drag & Drop Email Builder and go through steps we just discussed. Screen shot below.

After you’ve gone through this Aweber tutorial you know how to create a follow up series. Which brings us to what do you say to the people on your list after they opt-in?
First thing you want to do is build a rapport with them.
I mean you don’t ask someone to marry you on the first date?
No. Of course not.
