You and I talked about how to find something you’re fired up about and how to differentiate yourself. This is where it really gets good. It’s all about you. That’s right. All about you! Usually it’s about your wife and kids, but today it is all about you. You want to build your brand. Take what you are passionate about and how you are different and build your brand around that. Piece of cake!
What is a brand? Nike, Reebok, Under Armour, Coach, Guess, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Nautica, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, get the point? Each one of these brands speaks to a specific audience, has their own unique styles, colors, logos, etc. What do all of these brands have in common? They are highly successful and been around a long time.
How do they do it? Well they listen to their customers and tirelessly work on improving that brand to keep their customer base and add new ones. Take a field trip to the mall and have a look for yourself at all of these well known brands, figure out who they are marketed towards, what makes each one of them unique, etc. Don’t stop there continue to study all brands to give you more perspective and ideas should start to flow on how to construct yours.
What’s your brand going to be? Will it be around for a long time? Will it be a household name in your niche like Nike is in theirs? All of these brands are built to last. Is yours?
