Now that you have taken your trip to the mall to see branding in action and are continuing to study now you and I are going to get into the nitty gritty. What is that? Selling. How to sell your brand to your market. As we’ve discussed before marketing is selling in print. Got it? Cool. Learning how to sell is hard and takes a long time to learn, but we’ll keep it simple and try to shorten the learning curve.
First thing you need to do is become an expert on your product. In this case your product is you = your brand. Know it inside and out, backwards, forwards…and why they should buy from you instead of someone else they come across on the internet in your niche. This is where differentiation comes in, you better know what makes you different than the masses and how to sell that to your prospects. In case you don’t know prospects are potential customers.
Here’s an example. Let’s say your selling toilet bowls and there are 10 different brands of toilet bowls. You are selling 1 of those brands and are competing against 9 others. You best know your toilet bowl brand like the back of your hand and how it is different from the other 9. Maybe your brand has a soft seat which provides superior comfort and the other 9 do not. Well you need to focus on the soft seat that provides superior comfort as that is your selling point. Make sense?
If your niche is making money online and during your research all you find was people talking about how much money they make online, rather than showing you how. Your selling point will be showing me how? Got it?
