Lets dive in a little deeper in this blog post about getting eyeballs on your stuff using social media – specifically twitter. First here is a little twitter 101. Let me be clear – if all you do is tweet content and do not follow any of the best practices explained below you’re not going to get any eyeballs on your stuff. If you want to maximize twitter and get a ton of traffic from it to your content you need to interact with others. What do I mean by that? Retweet tweets of those you follow, favorite tweets that pique your interest, engage your followers – ask them questions about what they just tweeted. When someone follows you thank them for following. If you are thinking of writing a series of blog posts on a particular topic ask your followers their thoughts, get their input. Depending on the response it may or may not be a good idea to pursue. Build rapport. How often should you do this? I suggest incorporating into your daily routine as time allows. If you only have 5 minutes a day do 5 minutes a day, etc. By following all of these best practices you will increase eyeballs on your stuff. Make sense?
