Alright you’re rip roaring and ready to go now that you practiced religiously on how to have a conversation with one person. I would encourage you to continue to practice as you can improve on selling and make your results even better going forward making more $$$$. Which is what you want? You’ve heard of Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning? Of course you have as they are arguably the best at their positions in their respective sports. What do they all have in common? Well they are always improving on how they can become better, just like you should if you want to be among the best online!
Do you know what a sales cycle is? It is how long it takes for a prospect to buy once they have seen your ad, blog post, video, yada, yada. On average it takes you being exposed through a variety of medium (print, video, etc.) 7 times before you buy something. That’s a lot. So once you start marketing and put out your first ad, blog post, whatever it is, no matter how compelling don’t expect the sales to start happening right away. Patience my friend as this takes a while – so chill out bean sprout!
I’ve been selling for a long time and I can tell you it has taken anywhere from an initial meeting (extremely rare), all the way to 3 years to close a deal. Why Kurt all the way to 3 years? We’ll dig into that into that later. Hold that thought. That’s why selling is all about persistence and it does not matter whether that is face-to-face or online as the same holds true. If you’re not persistent you’re not going to make it!
