If this is your first taste of Kurt Kummerer, then there’s something that you may not be aware of. I am a HUGE Patriots fan, pretty much since birth. Yes, I have been a fan since they were the laughingstock of the NFL. I am not a fair weather fan nor am I on any bandwagon.
With that said this is not an article about why Tom Brady got screwed by getting suspended 4 games for deflate gate. This has to do with how the NFL got it so wrong with Josh Brown, but in their eyes they did the right thing by suspending Tom Brady 4 games over circumventing the rules by gaining a competitive advantage over other teams by being involved in a scheme to take air out of footballs. For the record, I do believe he had some knowledge of what was going on.
The NFL Was Dead Wrong On Josh Brown
Unless you’re a complete shut in and are not tuned into the outside world you’ve been exposed to the despicable actions alleged by New York Giants Kicker Josh Brown and his wife Molly. The guy supposedly verbally and physically abused his wife. The Giants knew about it, but wanted to be sure of the severity before taking action. Again the words of Giants owner John Mara on The Mike Francesa radio show.
Really? You need to know the severity before you as the team owner can take any action? If you’re not up on the whole story there were multiple incidents, it wasn’t just one isolated incident (not that it would be any better if it were 1 incident as opposed to many).
If that were you, you would be fired immediately by your employer and probably, getting acquainted with Bubba in Gen Pop by now. But, because the NFL’s left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, that didn’t happen. Instead they did nothing. To make matters worse the NFL has a rule in place about domestic violence which calls for the player to be suspended 6 games for such incidents. Josh Brown was only suspended for 1 GAME! They don’t even abide by the rules they have in place.
Seriously, that’s crazy.
Now back to the Greatest Quarterback Of All Time for a second. Yes, he is the greatest of all time. He supposedly was involved in a scheme to deflate footballs to gain a competitive advantage, and was suspended for 4 games.
Tell me how they got that right?
Josh Brown assaults his wife and gets suspended for 1 game and Tom Brady took air out of footballs and gets suspended for 4 games?
Tell me how that makes any sense?
Does that make sense to you?
So, according to the NFL taking air out of footballs is more egregious than domestic violence? Apparently so.
I mean domestic violence is a crime punishable by law.
Taking air out of footballs? Not so much.
Man, NFL you really screwed the pooch on this whole situation as it relates to Josh Brown and Tom Brady.
