Go to http://www.aweber.com
Type in your username and password and click on “Login To My Account”
Once logged in you are brought to your home screen. See home screen below.
We are going to Create A Broadcast. What is a Broadcast? A Broadcast is simply a single email you create to send out to your list. To get started click on Create A Broadcast.
After you click on Create A Broadcast you are taken to the following screen.
Now we are going to walk through how to personalize the subject line. Click on the box that says Insert Your Subject Line Here. Then click on the blue box that says Personalize.
A drop down appears where you can choose what you want to put in the subject line as far as your prospect’s information. It could be their full name, first name, last name, email address, whatever you want. Move your cursor over what you want displayed. The cursor will turn blue as shown below.
For this exercise I am going to click on first name. Click on first name and you will be taken to the following screen.
You can see after you clicked on first name what pops up in your subject line. When sending an email out Aweber will automatically populate the first name of the prospect you are sending that email to. After the personalization, write the remainder of your subject line as you see in the above example.
I recommend using the first name as it is more personable and prospects respond better when you treat them like actual human beings rather than just another opportunity to sell your stuff. Now we break down all of the tools you have at your disposal. Some of these tools are similar to those that are in Microsoft Word. See below.
As for the drag & drop I recommend you play around with that by dragging and dropping each one into your email to see what they do. After you write your email click the Next button.
After clicking Next you are taken to the following screen.
I would turn off your social sharing since this is an email going out to your list.
After you turn off social sharing click Next at the bottom of the screen.
After clicking Next you will be taken to the following screen.
You can enable the scheduler, but it is not a requirement. I am pointing out for the simple fact to let you know that those tools are here if you wish to use them. Go through your Send Options and when you’re done click on Save Message at the bottom of the screen. See screenshot below.
