As a newbie marketer I know there is a lot to learn and your head is probably spinning around like the exorcist. You’re wondering what the heck does “Top Tier” mean and it has two parts? Whew information overload is kicking in already after that sentence. Good news for you is we are going to walk through them together breaking it down step-by-step so you can easily understand it. Sound like a plan? Ok let’s dive in by first talking about what “Top Tier” Means.
Top tier can also be referred to as high-ticket in other words a program that typically costs thousands of dollars to become an affiliate, but has the potential to pay you thousands of dollars in commissions. So what is the starting point for a top tier program? $2,000 is a starting point for a top tier affiliate program and can go all the way up to $30,000 plus in some cases. That’s a ton of dough wouldn’t you say? Sure is. So you’re wondering who could afford to make that kind of investment. There can’t be many people out there that get into these types of programs? This is going to surprise you, but there are literally thousands of people that join these types of opportunities. Likewise the same can be said going back to my sales career selling medical equipment to eye doctors ranging from $50,000 to $85,000.
So what’s the benefit to you by joining and spending all of that money? It’s simple you get paid $1,000 to $5,000 in commissions every time someone buys from you. You’ll take that won’t you? As I just mentioned me selling equipment that costs $50,000 to $85,000 on average I made $2,000 to $7,000 in commission per sale. When talking about programs or products that cost this type of money you need to understand one thing. You will not sell as much as you would if the program costs $10 to $100. This bears repeating.
You will not sell as much as you would if the program costs $10 to $100!
Same can be said for selling an $85,000 machine. Why? Because it is not for everyone. Also, this satisfies a particular need of the customer and not all of them have the same needs. Now the good thing is if you’ve been paying attention you do not need to sell as many top tier products to make some decent coin. In other words sell less and make more. Let that marinate for a second. Sell less make more. Isn’t that your goal or anyone else’s for that matter? Sell less make more? Work less make more? If not it needs to be as that is common sense my friend.
Now as a newbie your thinking this is going to be totally awesome in that that I can make $15,000 in commissions by making 3 sales. Boy that shouldn’t take long. Right? Cool your jets hot rod. Three key points you need to remember when selling a product that costs thousands of dollars.
- It’s psychological
- It’s emotional
Psychological – When a prospect buys a product they are trying to wrap their head around and visualize how this product is going to meet their needs. In my experience selling products that cost thousands of dollars this part can take months and most likely years in a lot of cases. Emotional – Buying is an emotional response. People buy on emotion. That emotion is either positive or negative. Let me dig a little deeper here. Negative emotion means you are buying for fear of losing out on what that product will do for you. Positive emotion refers to you understand what that product will do for you and want to take advantage of those benefits ASAP. Money – Even if the first two points are satisfied which is crucial – it comes down to pulling that trigger and spending thousands of dollars regardless of whether you have it or not. Let me give you an example of what I am talking about. I sold a piece of diagnostic equipment to a large eye physician and surgeon group that had multiple locations and tons of doctors. The equipment in question cost $50,000. This piece of equipment had a high reimbursement meaning for each patient they used the machine on they would generate about $280 in revenue. They have literally thousands of patients. It was a no-brainer. To top it all off when this group purchases equipment like this they pay cash – write a check for the entire amount. So how long did it take for this group to buy?
It takes time for people to buy and spend thousands on any product you’re selling. In this last case it took months for that doctor group to buy.
It can take years for a prospect to buy your top tier product that costs thousands!
The most common objection you’ll get when selling an expensive product is….
It’s too expensive…..I don’t have that kind of money
In some cases this is true, but for the majority it is a load of crap. The reason your prospect is saying that is you have not convinced them how your product is going to help them. Once you do that the money will not be an issue. Does that mean they will buy on the spot? No. As I mentioned earlier in my doctor example. I cannot stress this enough as it takes time to sell products that cost in the thousands. So you need to be patient and over time the results will come. This is not get rich quick and if that is what you’re looking for you’ve come to the wrong place. The anatomy of a top tier affiliate program has two parts.
- Front End
- Back End
The front end is designed to sell your prospect a low-cost product which essentially gets them in the door. Two schools of thought here. One – once a prospect is willing to whip out their credit card and buy a low-cost product from you they are more than likely to buy something else from you that may cost more. Two – your prospect may have been following you for some time reading your content on your blog and/or been on your email list receiving emails. They have gotten a chance to know, like, and trust you and have decided to buy.
Let’s walk through the front end of a popular top tier affiliate program. For the purpose of full-disclosure I am a member of this program and believe in it which is why I am sharing this with you.
The acronym for this program is MTTB or
My Top Tier Business
My Top Tier Business is the front end for MOBE or
My Online Business Education
We’ll discuss MOBE in detail later in the next blog post.
Matt Lloyd is the founder of MOBE and in my opinion has put together the best affiliate program for making money online. Here is what you get if you decide to purchase MTTB for $49.00.
- Done-For-You Online Sales System – The internet’s only done for you system that can deposit $1,000, $3,000, and $5,000 commissions in your bank account.
- 1-on-1 Private Personal Coaching – Your own personal 1-on-1 coaching with one of my Top Tier coaches who is highly trained by Matt Lloyd and currently makes 6 to 7 figures online (yes…you get a personal coach to answer all your questions, and walk you through everything). The coaches really know what they are doing. You do not go through all 21 steps at once. For example you go through the first 2 steps, re-connect with your coach to discuss the first 2 steps. After that your coach will unlock the next 2 to 3 steps, when you’re done re-connect with your coach. Wash, rinse, and repeat until you complete all 21 steps.
- Simple 21 Step Training Program – A simple 21 step training program to making your first $1,000, $3,000, or $5,000 commission with MTTB (including short, easy-to-watch videos and webinars).
